The Truth and Reconciliation Commission revealed how little Canadians know about the First Nations who inhabited this land long before the arrival of the Europeans.

How can we, as Catholics, hope to contribute to healing and reconciliation if we ignore the history of our relationship? What can we, as Catholics, learn from Indigenous peoples about dimensions of the Gospel that are especially meaningful and relevant today?

We are bound by centuries-old agreements with Indigenous nations and, as such, we have commitments to fulfill. Dare greatly and learn what our responsibilities are, and how meeting them is “good news” for Catholics today.
