Corpus Christi Procession

Date:

St. Monica's Parish Hall - 6405 Terrebonne, Montreal, Qc.

The Solemnity of Corpus Christi is one of the most beautiful celebrations in the life of the Church, for it draws our hearts to the greatest treasure Christ has given us — His abiding presence in the Holy Eucharist. In every celebration of the Mass, heaven touches earth, and the Lord continues to nourish His people with His own Body and Blood. The Eucharist is not simply a symbol to be remembered, but the living presence of Christ among us — strengthening, healing, and uniting His Church. That is why the Church calls the Holy Eucharist the source and summit of Christian life. Throughout the world, this sacred feast is marked with reverence, devotion, and public witness. Among the most meaningful expressions of our Eucharistic faith is the Eucharistic Procession, where together as a believing community we accompany the Blessed Sacrament through our streets and neighbourhoods. In this solemn act of prayer and devotion, we proclaim that Christ is not distant from the world but walks among His people, blessing our homes, families, struggles, and daily lives with His loving presence.

This year, our parish is blessed with the opportunity to celebrate this beautiful tradition in a special way through a Eucharistic Procession following the Holy Mass of 11 AM. So that our whole parish family may gather as one community for this sacred celebration, there will be only one Mass on Sunday, June 7th, at 11:00 AM. Please note that there will be no 9:00 AM Mass on that day. I warmly invite each one of you to take part in this grace-filled celebration. Your presence, prayer, and participation will make this not simply an event, but a profound witness of our faith and love for the Eucharistic Lord. Let us come together with joyful and grateful hearts to honour Christ who remains with us always in the Blessed Sacrament, and let us walk together as one people united in His love and presence. Please keep this change of Mass schedule in mind and share it with others.
